PTAB decisions
Representative PTAB Notices
These notes cover the notices the Board issues when a petition is filed, such as notices of filing date accorded and notices of incomplete or defective petitions, and what each requires of the parties.
Before any decision on the merits, the Board reviews a petition for completeness. A notice of filing date accorded starts the patent owner’s clock for a preliminary response; a notice of an incomplete or defective petition gives the petitioner a short time to correct it.
Designations and rules change. Before relying on any decision, confirm its current status on the USPTO PTAB pages.
